  5. For users without any MANA, find an item which will start you off with a few
  6. points.

  8. Always keep a spell in reserve and when your MANA bar reaches full capacity,
  9. cast the spell and immediately recite another spell but don't cast it.

  11. You don't have to find a spell scroll to actually know a spell, so high level
  12. spells are available to novices.

  14. Even if a spell is unsuccessful, the experience gained still counts towards
  15. your next skill level.

  17. Rather than cast a meaningless spell, recant the incorrect symbol(s) and 
  18. recite the correct one(s). Meaningless spells don't count towards experience.
